This blog post ain’t what it started out to be

Yep, this blog post started out to be a discussion on how we are so done with 2020 looking towards 2021 with a fresh new start. Now it has become something entirely different.

The COVID-19 epidemic has scavenged our country. The crisis has cost many American lives and livelihoods. As I write this post, my daughter is in a hospital terribly ill with COVID-19. I cannot go and see her, nobody can. She is one of the many front line health care workers, working many hours, and sacrificing their lives to take care of us.

After many weeks of caring for COVID-19 patients she is now fighting the fight. I know you see it, you listen to it, you read about it every day and you’re tired of it. I get it. But if we don’t do something to help these front line health care workers who will be there to care for you or your loved ones when they get it? Trust me someone you know will get it and become ill, the odds are against you. They need our support financially and emotionally to get through this crisis. My daughter’s thoughts as she was rushed out by the ambulance are towards her husband and my granddaughter who are now ill with the virus too.

We need to make sure our government has the supplies they require to protect themselves and the resources to fight this battle.

They need to know they will be supported financially if they become ill or quarantine from the illness they got while on the job.

Do you know that some facilities do not financially support their staff if they become ill or quarantine while on the job? This should be mandated on a national level not left up to individual facilities or hospitals! Many nurses are afraid to test because if they become ill they know they will have to quarantine without pay. This is absolutely wrong on so many levels. Please notify our legislators or a local governments to change these crazy practice’s.

This blog post was to talk about looking towards 2021 with a new start and fresh look to our website and introduce new products. We just announced our end of the year sale where everything is 20 to 50% off to prepare for the new. We will continue with our sale but what’s changed is our donation of 50% of proceeds will go to our front line health care workers.

These are difficult times we are living through and it’s important for all of us to follow current CDC guidelines to help prevent continued spread of this disease. When did wearing a mask become so political? Please do your part, all of us. So it’s not your loved one who will end up in a hospital bed or the morgue.

We wish all of our customers a healthy and happy holiday!

Debra
